What it is like
The Hungry Smoothie is a story book for the calmer moments. A very hungry blender lives in a kitchen and eats its way through the week: five strawberries on Monday, four banana slices on Tuesday, then spinach, yogurt, ice and twelve blueberries by Saturday, before it blends everything into a purple smoothie and pours it into a cup. Each page turns once the child has moved the mouse or a finger far enough, or pressed enough keys: the ingredients fly in from the edges of the screen, sparkles follow the pointer, and a progress bar shows how much the blender has eaten. A narrator reads every page aloud: an AI voice from ElevenLabs, recorded once into ten short clips that live on our site, so it sounds the same on every device and nothing is generated or fetched from elsewhere while a child plays; the words are always on screen. A grown-up gets a mute button, a start-again button and fullscreen. It is free, with no ads, accounts or tracking, loads nothing from outside kidsmashgames.com, and downloads about 1.4 MB of pictures and sounds plus a 50 kB narration clip for each page as it is read.

- The narrator is an AI voice rather than a person, and a page waits for it to finish before it turns
- About 1.9 MB of pictures, sounds and narration to download over the story, and the fullscreen button is hidden on iPhones
