A pixel-art koala on a branch surrounded by floating pixel leaves, with a leaf counter in the corner

What it is like

Our first game, and a calm kind of smash game. Pixel leaves in different shapes and colours drift down the screen around a small three-dimensional koala on a branch. Tap, click or swipe a leaf and it bursts into crumbs and zips into the koala's mouth, which chews with a little nod; any key on the keyboard grabs the leaf nearest to it. A counter in the corner keeps score and every ten leaves earn a hop. You can also drag the koala through the leaves to scoop them up, or fling it across the screen. Stop playing for a few seconds and it dozes off; the next leaf wakes it. There is nothing to buy and no way to lose, and the page loads no ads, no analytics and no third-party scripts.

What we liked

  • No ads, no accounts, no analytics, no cookies
  • Every tap, swipe, key press and drag does something visible
  • Falls asleep when ignored and wakes up for the next leaf, which toddlers find hilarious
  • Big leaves with a forgiving hit area, so small fingers score often

What to know

  • Silent: no sounds yet, so it does not hold attention the way noisy smash sites do
  • No fullscreen or parent lock yet, so keep it in a browser tab you are watching
  • On a small phone fewer leaves fit and the koala takes up a lot of the screen

Verdict

A calm smash-and-feed game with a koala that naps when the smashing stops. Free, ad-free and ours.

Best for: Tapping games on a lap, or a first mouse and keyboard game.
